The Red Sox announced Tuesday Sale underwent wrist surgery. He suffered a right distal radius fracture in a bicycle accident on Saturday.

Sale’s surgery was deemed successful. The Red Sox expect him to be ready for Spring Training.

With his 5 2/3 big-league innings this season, Sale has logged 48 1/3 innings in 11 starts over the past three years.
