17. Fake Movies
Many “Seinfeld” episodes involved trips to the cinema, and the show wove a rich tapestry of fictional pop culture through the movies that they chose to see. From the strange, erotic journey of “Rochelle, Rochelle” (which was later adapted into a Broadway musical starring Bette Midler) to “Blimp: The Hindenburg Story” (which certainly would have starred Gerard Butler if it was real), fake movies were a clever running gag throughout the show’s nine seasons. We’re still curious about the plot of “Sack Lunch,” whose poster showed a family of four standing inside of a comically large brown paper bag. —CZ
