Liverpool have a young academy prospect in their ranks who boasts an incredible goalscoring record.

Mateusz Musialowski has even been dubbed the "Polish Lionel Messi " following his rise through the ranks at Anfield.

It comes following reports that the Reds have identified the next young wonderkid they want to bring in to the club – Fulham's Fabio Carvalho.

Carvalho appears set for a big move at the end of the season after starring for his club this term in the Championship.

The young playmaker's contract is up at the end of the season and Liverpool are reported to be interested in signing him.

Jurgen Klopp has also issued a fitness update on his squad ahead of the trip to Crystal Palace.

Fitness update

Jurgen Klopp has said he may be without two players for Sunday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

The Reds travel to south London on Sunday to face Patrick Vieira's side off the back of Thursday night's 2-0 victory at Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.

But Klopp's side have suffered an injury scare following that match, while one more longer-term injury is set to keep another player out.

But the Reds boss says he will "hope and pray" both players are fit by Sunday's game.

Liverpool target Fabio Carvalho

Reports have suggested Reds target Fabio Carvalho is facing a pivotal month as the wonderkid decides his future.

Carvalho is now free to discuss a move with foreign sides for when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The young midfielder has also just changed agents, fuelling claims he could secure a big move this year.

He's also reportedly been approached by one household name, who would be more than capable of securing his dream move.

The youngster Klopp loves

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was reportedly blown away after watching Mateusz Musialowski in training.

Musialowski, 18, has scored 133 times in 88 games back in Poland, which helped persuade Liverpool to bring him to Anfield from SMS Lodz.

The Polish youngster is capable of player across the front three as well as in attacking midfield – leading to comparisons with PSG superstar Lionel Messi.

Reports have also suggested the youngster skinned Fabinho in training, much to Klopp's amusement, by nutmegging his senior teammate.

And the incident left Klopp very impressed with the young player.
