Jerry Jones hasn’t hesitated to vocalize his concerns with the Dallas Cowboys since the team lost in the opening round of the NFC Playoffs to the San Francisco 49ers.

According to Jon Machota who covers the team, the Cowboys’ owner has plenty of faith in quarterback Dak Prescott moving forward and believes he’s the kind of quarterback that can take the franchise where it wants to go.

“Jerry Jones said on @1053thefan he’s absolutely convinced that Dak Prescott can win a Super Bowl: “Dak has the skill to make it happen,” Machota tweeted.

Prescott finished the season with 4,449 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and a passer rating of 104.2.

Jerry Jones fires back at calls for shades at AT&T Stadium

Jones didn’t hesitate when asked about potentially adding shades to AT&T Stadium.

In the playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers, there was a play where wide receiver Cedrick Jones was clearly blinded by the sun, prompting the question in the first place.

“I wish to hell all I had to worry about was a ball hitting a (big screen) or a little sun getting in there,” Jones said. “Conditions and elements have been a part of football since it was spelled the first time. No, I’m not. That’s about 10,000 on my list of things to worry about. And no, we’re not going to do anything with it.”

That was an emphatic response from the Dallas Cowboys’ owner. Jerry Jones went on to explain that both teams have to deal with the elements in a given contest.

“It goes both ways,” Jones added. “Both teams had a chance to get in the sun. Both teams had a chance to get out of the sun. Relative to the elements I see other people play, it’s nothing. Relative to somebody said something about a ball hitting the screen, you know how many punts we’ve had out there that never hit that screen? It’s ridiculous.”

Jerry Jones believes that these are all just little excuses to take attention off the fact that the Cowboys lost.

“Well, I do the very same thing,” the Dallas owner continued.

“When I’ve had my ass kicked and people are mad at me, then I’m going to pick something out that I can pick on them. ‘Well I don’t like that they don’t color coordinate or they don’t wear something I want them to wear.’ When really it’s something much more important than that. What we’ve got on our mind is the fact that we didn’t play well enough in the first playoff game with a hell of a team.”

Mike McCarthy reveals conversation with Jerry Jones

After the Dallas Cowboys lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card round this weekend, questions rose about Mike McCarthy’s job status. He shared the answer to that question on Wednesday.

McCarthy, speaking to reporters, said he spoke with owner Jerry Jones about his future. When asked about how the two addressed his job status, McCarthy said he and Jones had “very positive conversations.”

The Cowboys headman’s play-calling came under fire this week after Dallas fell to the San Francisco 49ers 23-17 in the Wild Card game. With 14 seconds left, the Cowboys called for a designed run for Dak Prescott, who took it to the San Francisco 24-yard line.

But the problem was Dallas didn’t have any timeouts, meaning the offense had to hurry to the line and snap the ball. The official couldn’t spot the ball until the clock expired — meaning the Cowboys couldn’t spike the ball. That’s how their season ended.

It’s clear Jerry Jones has his eye on the coaching staff but isn’t making a change at the top moving forward.
