Eddie Hearn has admitted unified lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr would be the "A-side" in a potential undisputed clash with WBC titleholder Devin Haney.
Kambosos provided one of the biggest upsets of the year when he outpointed Teofimo Lopez last month to win the 135-pound titles.
Haney made the fifth defence of his WBC belt against interim titleholder Diaz this weekend, with Kambosos watching on from ringside.
The two champions respectfully agreed to an undisputed clash after the fight, with Kambosos suggesting it should take place at Sydney's ANZ Stadium which sits 83,000 people.
And Hearn - who has a fight-by-fight deal with Haney - admits the Australian would hold more leverage in an undisputed clash.
"He's a very confident young man. We can make an offer to Lou DiBella, Peter Khan and George Kambosos to stage the fight," Hearn told iFL TV.
"They can make an offer or we can be smart, work together to go out and maximise this fight. Doesn't have to be in Australia, could be in the US or the Middle East.
"It's an undisputed fight so a lot of people want to pay for it, but I do like the idea of staging an event in Australia and he is the A-side. We accept that, he's just had a fantastic win.
"Devin will go wherever he's needed to be undisputed, we will make sure everything's right for him and he gets the best deal. That's the natural fight and it's one that must happen next."
Hearn admitted that hosting the fight in Australia could be problematic due to current Covid-19 restrictions limiting foreign travel to the country.
Kambosos - who currently holds the WBC 'franchise' title - has downplayed any chance of taking a tune-up fight after his historic win against Lopez.

Another potential option for both lightweights is a fight with Gervonta Davis, granted 'Tank' can get past his Isaac Cruz on Sunday night.
But Hearn thinks the undisputed conversation at lightweight between Kambosos and Lopez needs to be resolved next.
"I think that the whole undisputed argument will always roll on unless we resolve it. I think George Kambosos believes he can beat Devin Haney," he continued.
"I've heard him say he doesn't want a tune-up and I don't blame him. He's going to make a lot of money for this fight and he should do.
"He's gonna cement his future and his families future forever, in one fight. This is a tough sport and he deserves it, I believe we can do good business together and make a historic event."
