A body found in Wyoming is believed to be that of missing Gabby Petito, US officials have said.
The FBI said the body was found by law enforcement agents who had spent the past two days searching campgrounds.
"Full forensic identification has not been completed to confirm 100% that we found Gabby, but her family has been notified of this discovery," said FBI Supervisory Special Agent Charles Jones.
Ms Petito and her boyfriend Brian Laundrie left in July on a cross-country trek in a converted van to visit national parks in the US West.
Mr Laundrie, 23, has been identified as a person of interest in the case.
More than 50 police officers, FBI agents and members of other law enforcement agencies have been searching for him for the past few days in a 24,000-acre wildlife reserve near Sarasota, Florida.
Police said Mr Laundrie was alone when he drove the van back to his parents' home in North Port, Florida, on 1 September.
Ms Petito's family filed a missing persons report on 11 September with police in Suffolk County, New York.
Mr Laundrie was last seen on Tuesday by family members in Florida.
Last week, police in Utah released bodycam footage, captured on 12 August before Ms Petito's disappearance, that showed her crying and an officer talking to Mr Laundrie after the pair were pulled over in their van.
Officers decided to separate the couple, giving Ms Petito the van and putting Mr Laundrie into a hotel room for the night.
While they were travelling, much of their journey was documented on social media accounts, but the online content abruptly stopped and Ms Petito was last in contact with her family in late August.
