A Wichita man has been charged with attempted second degree murder for a stabbing incident downtown.
27-year-old Jeffery Elam appeared in Sedgwick County District Court on Thursday, and his bond was set at $500,000. His next court appearance has been scheduled for December 9th.
Elam was arrested after police released a surveillance video of a man involved in a November 21st stabbing in the 100 block of North St. Francis. A 22-year-old woman was stabbed in the stomach as she was walking to her car. She was taken to a hospital in serious condition, and she is now recovering from her injury.
