Former Secretary of State Colin Powell, dead at 84

Former U.S. Secretary of State General Colin Powell has died from complications from Covid-19. He was 84.

Powell's family released a statement on social media that he had been fully vaccinated. “We have lost a remarkable and loving husband, father and grandfather and a great American,” the family said.

Powell was the first African American to serve as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and secretary of state.
