The Vermont State Council on World Affairs is asking for more Vermonters to participate in its virtual host program – allowing Vermonters to learn about cultures from all over the world – with the click of a button. The virtual host program allows Vermonters to connect with people from Africa, Asia, Australia, Central and South America and Europe, sharing what day-to-day life is like.The Vermont Council on World Affairs says it allows Vermonters to expand the discussion and connect with others on global discussions surrounding topics like global warming, terrorism and migration.“Without these cultural interactions our community and future generations are missing out on the opportunity to learn this really important piece of cultural literacy,” said Patricia Preston, the executive director of the Vermont Council on World Affairs.The council is looking ahead to next year when they’re more hopeful in-person visits can resume, which will also help bring in more revenue to the state.
