Active cases fall, no new deaths in Sunday’s COVID-19 report by DHHR

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Active coronavirus cases took another drop in numbers reported Sunday by the state Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR).

Active cases are now at 15,413 which represents a drop of nearly 600 cases from Saturday’s report.

The DHHR reported no new COVID deaths Sunday. Overall deaths remained at 3,523.

There were 1,376 new cases confirmed in the past 24 hours.

Hospitalizations are at 978 Sunday. That number was 1,008 on Friday. 278 patients are in the ICU and 187 on vents.

West Virginia has a rolling 7-day average of vaccinations of 1,003.

Gov. Jim Justice’s next coronavirus briefing is scheduled for Monday.
